Logansport placed 17th in the 25 team Wildcat Invite on Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University at Marion. Leading the way for Berries was Jake Hoover who placed 82nd. Christian Dawson placed 88th for the Berries, followed by Ryan Lythgoe (108th), Adam Lowry (115th), Kyle Army (118th), Zach Russell (121), and Austin Young (138th). There were 210 runners in the varsity invite. “Just before the race began the skies opened up and it poured during the entire race.” “I had a couple of my guys go down and that hurt our score a little, but overall, considering the conditions, we ran well.” “It’s good to see Adam Lowry, Kyle Army, and Ryan Lythgoe start to come back into form.” “This will be super helpful come tourney time, and this team is doing the work to become competitive come October.” I was super pleased with my JV team and their time drops, it’s going to make the next couple of weeks interesting for our sectional roster. Hamilton Southeastern won the race with 44 points, including the overall winner, Gabe Fendel in 15:49. They also had two other runners in the top 10. Valparaiso was second 50, and Zionsville finished 3rd with 98 points. Logansport will be be at the New Prairie Invitational next Saturday.
