Meet Recap

The Lady Berries turned in a 5th place finish at the Logansport Cross Country Sectional on Saturday to advance to the Culver Regional next Saturday.

Isabelle Crain finished in 4th place with a time of 19:47, which is her best on the Logansport course. Megan Benn was 28th in 21:49; Madi Brown 28th in 22:15; Joseline Hernandez 33rd in 22:43; Cassidy Kestle 37th in 22:56. Lucie Van Zyl was 40th in 23:07 and Audrey Niblick was 43rd in 23:10.

“We had some really good races today,” said Logansport coach Brian Morrill. “Isabelle ran another strong race with the sub 20:00. 19:47 is her best time ever on our course. Megan Benn ran solid again this week and Madi Brown was only 5 seconds off her best time. The big surprise was Joseline Hernandez, who finished 4th for us today. Liz Smith our normal #4 was out with an injury and Joseline knocked another 1:17 off her personal best. It is the second week in a row she has knocked over a minute off her time. Kestle ran well – she went on some asthma medicine this week and felt better during the race than she has all year. Lucie Van Zyl was a couple of seconds under her previous best and Audrey Niblick finished up well too with just about 10 to 15 seconds over her personal best. All in all – we are still improving and that is what you want at this time of the year. We are hoping to go to Culver and turn in even better times next week,” said Morrill.

The Berries will run at the Culver Regional next Saturday at 10:30 am.
