Meet Recap

The Berry Harriers placed 5th in the IHSAA Regional at Culver Academies on Saturday to advance to the New Prairie Semi-State next weekend. The Berries were led by Freshman Christian Dawson who finished 19th overall in a time of 17:45. Jake Hoover was the second scorer for the Berries, placing 24th and Ryan Lythgoe was the third scorer placing 26th. “Our top pack was really packed in, and that was the saving grace for us today. Usually it’s our four through seven pack that is our strength, but we had a couple of guys who were just a little off today, and at this level it can be the difference between advancing and staying home. We had a little luck on our side today, and as a coach, you will always take some luck.” Finishing out the scoring for the Berries were Kyle Army and Zach Russell. “Christian Dawson was really down on himself, but he should be super proud. It was a tough day to compete and he pushed through and ran a very solid race.” “We are excited to make a return trip to the semi-state and hope to run our best race of the year.” “We know we are capable of beating some teams that have beat us this year, and that is our focus Saturday.”
