Multiple Teams · Beyond the Baseline – Cassidy Muller

By Taylor Pasquale

A lot of people probably don’t know this, but I’ve known Cassidy for a very long time. She and my sister are in the same grade so I’ve probably known her ever since she was a kindergartener at All Saints. Cassidy is the daughter of Neil and Bridget Muller. She has one sister, Abby Russow, and one brother, Bryce Muller. Cassidy is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. In all of the years I have known her she has never been anything but kind to me. I didn’t have very many friends in elementary school, but she was someone who I could always count on to be there for me.

I am glad that Cassidy is my little, she goes out of her way to encourage me and cheer me on at every practice and every game. And not just at basketball. This year I decided to try out for the high school soccer team, and even though I wasn’t very good, she always made me feel like I was doing great. We are very blessed to have someone like that on our basketball team. Cassidy’s goal for this season is to average 10 points a game, and her long term goal is to start varsity by her junior year. Her favorite part of LHS basketball is the team. After high school she plans to go to Indiana University and go into the medical field to become a Neonatologist. Something a lot of people don’t know about Cassidy is her nickname given to her by her uncle— “Tonka,” which also comes with the slogan “Tonka Tough.” I think that’s a great nickname because even though Cassidy is not very big, she still goes out on the court and battles, often times against players much bigger than her. But it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog, and that girl has a lot of fight in her. As she continues to improve, I’m happy to be someone she can always count on to cheer her on.
