Game Recap

Logansport Berries Varsity and Marion traded the lead back-and-forth on
Saturday, but eventually Logansport prevailed 10-8. Logan took the lead for good in the sixth inning. The game was tied at five with Logansport batting in the top of the sixth when Megan Karnafel doubled off of Asher, driving in one run.
Logansport Logansport Berries Varsity built a five-run lead in the seventh inning and then held off Marion’s charge. Marion scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Fisher and a error.
The Berries took an early lead in the first inning when they scored two runs on a single by Megan Benn with zero outs in the first inning.
Logansport scored four runs in the seventh inning. The Berries Varsity’s big inning was driven by a single by Benn, a single by Lexi Zartman, and a groundout by Justine Brown.
Marion scored three runs in the seventh inning. Marion’s big inning was driven by a single by Fisher and a error.
Megan Karnafel earned the win for the Berries Varsity. She tossed four innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, and striking out one. Asher took the loss for Marion.
Yilian Rodriguez started the game for the Logansport Berries Varsity. She went three innings, giving up three runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Logansport Logansport Berries Varsity had 15 hits in the game. Zartman, Benn, Olivia Pearson, and Ryleigh Ryan each collected multiple hits for the Logansport Berries Varsity. Benn and Zartman each collected three hits to lead the Berries.
Logan will play the winner of the Anderson and Lafayette Jeff game at Fincher at 4pm.
