Meet Recap

Logansport finished 3rd in the 20 team Caston Invitational Saturday at Caston High School. Logan was lead by their senior duo of Kyle Army 13th in 18:13, and Zach Russell 15th in18:15. Freshman Noe Ortiz continued to drop time on his personal best by finishing 22nd in 18:36. Fellow freshman Michael McMahan was fourth on the Logan scoring placing 33rd in 19:04. Rounding out the Berries top five was Christian Dawson who finished 37th in 19:07. “I am really happy with how Kyle and Zach are running and competing. We are doing some hard milage and they are running on tired legs and still dropping time.” “I can’t say enough good things about Michael and Noe, they work hard every day.” “I am not sure what is bothering Christian, but he is having some leg issues so we are going to rest him a week and hope it gets better as we head into the big meets in a month. Rounding out the varsity for Logan Saturday was senior Ethan Hostetler and junior Neil Frutos. “Ethan finally PR’d and I hope it bolsters his confidence. I know he has an 18:15 race in him, his practices tell me that.” “Neil is new to the sport and is really doing well, he could be huge for us in October.” The Berries run the Wildcat Invite next Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion.
