Logansport High School

The Berries lose to Western in conference play 8-6 at home. Logan falls to 5-3 (2-1) and Western moved to 10-0. Logan was hot early and cooled off late. Hudson Shank led off in the bottom of the 1st with a double. Taylor Albright then doubled and Shank scored. Logan scored 5 times in the bottom of the 2nd when Braylon Ritchie led off the inning with a single, Camden Chapman then doubled Ritchie in. Grady Alexander drew a BB and Jose Portilla doubled and scored Chapman. Kuper Jones had a single and scored courtesy runner Kolten Hudson. Hudson Shank singled and Taylor Albright had an RBI FC. Pearson drove in the final run with a single. The Berries had just 1 more hit the rest of the way, a Portilla single. The Berries had many good at bats that ended with hard hit balls as outs. Josh Middleton got the start and pitched 3.66INN allowing 7ER on 5 hits, 4BB and 2K’s. Western answer with 6 runs in the top of the 3rd. They scored another run in the 4th and 7th innings. Easton Sweet pitched in relief, throwing 2.33INN allowing 2 hits, 2BB, and 1K. Sweet allowed 1 unearned run on a late inning error on the Berries. Lucas Jones pitched 1INN and struck out 1 Western hitter. Logan travels to Western on Wednesday for another conference matchup.
