Girls Track & Field remains undefeated - Boys improve to 10-1

The Berries Track & Field teams were back in action on Wednesday evening at Twin Lakes and came away victorious in both the boys and girls competitions. The girls team remained undefeated at 11-0 with an 88-47 victory. They captured 14 of 16 events on the evening. The boys competition went down to the wire with the Berries winning 9 events to the Indians 7 events on the evening. The Berries were leading the Indians 62-61 with just the pole vault competition still taking place. The Berries took first and third to come out on top by a final score of 69-63. The boys team is now 10-1 on the season. The girls were led by four athletes who all captured two individual first place finishes. Aleyah Kinder won both hurdle events, Lily Clem took the shot put and the discus competition, Alette Woodhouse finished first in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters, while Rylee Zimmerman won the high jump and the long jump. Erin Williams won the 200 meter dash, Adyson Porter was first in the pole vault, and Jada Paul won the 100 meter dash. The Berries 4X 100 meter team of Porter, Williams, Kinder, and Paul took first in 53.50. The 4X 800 meter team of Ramirez, Sanchez-Olmos, Ely, and Woodhouse also took first place in 11:18. RJ Clem led the boys with first place finishes in the shot put and the discus. Other winners on the evening were Karsen Jackson (200 meter dash), Josh Buenaventura (800 meter run), Jackson Wicker (pole vault), and Landon Morock (110 meter hurdles). The Berries took all three relay races at the meet. The 4X 100 meter team of Morock, Baldini, Wicker, and Karsen Jackson won their event with a time of 44.57. The 4X 400 team of Escobedo, Georges, Martinez-Miranda, and Schurter finished with winning time of 3:47.00. The 4X 800 winning team of Hernandez, Buenaventura, Requeno, and Lopez came across the finish line in 9:44. The Berries will host the Cass County Track Meet this coming Saturday morning at Parkview Logansport Stadium with the field events starting at 9:30 am.
