Cross Country (G V/JV) Scores

The 2026 Lady Berries Cross Country team opens season at Dave Stookey Invitational with a third-place finish. After a summer of practices, it was time for the team to race. “The first meet of the season is always filled with excitement and a little nervous energy. After a very successful 2025 season and great summer of conditioning, our returning runners and new runners alike were looking forward to running and seeing how the competition sparked fitness.” Says head coach, Kailin Bauman The Berries placed 2 runners in the top 15 spots of the race led by junior, Alette Woodhouse (20:49- 2nd place overall), senior Kate Spradling (23:13- 13th), sophomores Kyndra Ely (24:05- 21st) and Aaliyah Rameriez (24:39- 24th), freshman Karly Leyva (26:18) junior Yari Sanchez-Olmos (26:29) and freshman Eva Woodhouse (27:03) completed the varsity squad. "This was a great start to our season; the times are slightly faster than our last season start and in less than favorable conditions. This team is excited to learn and grow from our first race with eyes set on the next one!” The junior varsity team raced in the combined race and followed suite running hard and learning from the race experience. Freshman Gwen Miller, led the junior varsity team, determined to run to her potential. The whole team, comprised of senior Genesis Sevilla, junior Sommer Lucero, freshman Vianey Hernendez Espino and Rosi Ramierz, sophomore Amber Garfias, freshman Avril Woodhouse, senior Ava Pe, juniors Charlie English, and Elyse Grenert raced on Saturday in a light rain, showing off their fitness after a summer of long, hot practices. “This team has a lot to be proud of, and they are looking forward to growing and learning. We will celebrate what we’ve accomplished and use it to build as we look towards the longer-term goals of conference and sectionals.” Bauman says. The Berries will host the Jacob Graf Invitational this coming Saturday morning.
