We had a few girls out due to sickness, including leading gymnast, Rylee Zimmerman. Despite having a smaller team, we utilized this meet to get more of our girls in front of the judges. We had a great group of six girls step up to the challenge and do well. Lucy Gordon and Tiara Lincoln competed in the all around for the first time this season. Lucy put up a solid score on floor (8.05) and Tiara competed vault for the first time and scored a 7.95. Tatianna Jones contributed a bar routine for our team score and improved her vault score from last week from a 7.85 to a 7.875. Adrienne Scott also competed a recently learned vault for the first time today (7.1). Amilia Zaragoza had a strong debut coming back from injury. She competed beam (6.8) and got her career high on floor with a 7.375. Reese was our lead off on beam again and was able to stick her cartwheel. We are anxious to get our full team back to see where our team score goes from here, but I am extremely proud of the six that stepped up today. We are still struggling with falls on beam, but that was to be expected with such a new to the sport team and it being the beginning of our season. This group works extremely hard and I have no doubt that they will be able to put up bigger scores in the next few meets. Our next meet is the Harrison Invite on Saturday, January 25 at Elite in Lafayette.
