Logansport High School

LHS Softball wins 12-2 over Hoosier Conference opponent Tipton Blue Devils. Logansport Senior Natalee Packard dominated the circle throwing her second career no hitter. Packard threw 5 innings striking out 11 and walking two. The Blue Devils scored twice in the first inning on a few Logansport miscues. Logansport scored 2 runs in the first inning when Kellyn Cripe lead off the game with a double to right center. Gracie Risley singled to center to put runners at first and third. Bell Nicoles RBI ground out scores Cripe. Risley scores on an RBI single by Packard giving the Lady Berries a 2-0 lead. With the score tied at two, Kate Spradling lead off the second with a infield single. Mady Baumgardner reached first on a Blue Devil error. Both Spradling and Baumgardner scored on that same Blue Devil error. Cripe walked and scored on a bunt single by Risley that the Blue Devils over threw first base. Nicoles hit a sac fly to put the Lady Berries up 6-2. Adrienne Scott dropped down bunt single to start things off in the top of the third. Bianca Cortez doubled down the left field line to put runners at second and third. Scott scored on a wild pitch. Baumgardner walked and Evie Kitchel was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Cripe lined a sac fly to center to score Cortez. Nicoles smashed single to score Baumgardner and pinch runner Lucy Gordon. Logansport picked up two more runs after a single by K. Spradling and Baumgardner was hit by a pitch. Both score on a Blue Devil error on a ground ball hit by Kitchel. Offensively, the Lady Berries were lead by Cripe, Risley, and K. Spradling with multiple hits. Nicoles had 4 RBI's on the day. Cripe, Risley, K. Spradling and Baumgardner each scored multiple times for the Lady Berries The Lady Berries are now 4-0 on the season and will face Tipton Wednesday night at Fincher Field in another conference game.
