Ximena Lopez was tops in the pole vault (6-1). Khloe Wells won the shot put (29-1). Adyson Porter, Erin Williams, Brianna Chery and Paul won the 4x100 relay (54.97). Lorrie Curry, Dexter, Genesis Sevilla and Audrey Graham 4x400 relay (4:51.84). Claire Bundy, Graham, Dexter and Lorrie Curry won the 4x800 relay (12:09.48). Tate Strong took wins in the 800 (2:13.35) and 3200 (11:50.18) to lead the Logansport boys. Elliot Baldini won the 100 (11.51) and Eli Schurter won the 400 (55.73). Samuel Sebastian Jr. was first in the 1600 (5:00.95). Nickenson Hyppolite won the high jump (5-10) and Jackson Wicker was tops in the pole vault (9-6). Wicker, Landon Morock, Hyppolite and Baldini won the 4x100 relay (45.25). Schurter, David Escobedo, Jonathan Martinez-Miranda and Arain Castro Martinez won the 4x400 relay (4:05.14). Ronaldihno Sevilla, Nicolas Bibian, Josh Buenaventura and Martinez-Miranda won the 4x800 relay (9:35.79). “We’ve had a good start to the season,” Logan coach Brian Morrill said. “Our results are improving, and we are hopeful our athletes can keep trending in the same direction as the weather begins to cooperate. We have several athletes that have turned in personal bests so far in less than ideal conditions.” Morrill talked about some of the athletes that have stood out on the young season. “Three high jumpers have improved on their personal bests with Ashanta Curry at 5-2, Nickenson Hyppolite at 6-1 and Elliot Baldini at 6-foot. Jackson Wicker is already a foot over his best from last year with a vault of 11-6,” he said. “Our throwers are young but improving. RJ Clem and Gabe Coon have set personal bests this year and Khloe Wells and Lily Clem are both freshmen and are adjusting to high school competition. We have a very young throwing group with most of our better throwers being freshmen and sophomores. “Alette Woodhouse has a 5:45 1600 meter time posted and a 2:45 in the 800 meter but those results have been into strong headwinds and temperatures in the high 30s. Our distance runners are beginning to see time drops and we expect to see their times come down as we get some better weather. “Elliot Baldini is participating in track for the first time since junior high and has made the boys sprint events stronger. “Ashanta Curry, Adyson Porter, Brianna Chery, Jada Paul, Cecilia Rico, Jackson Wicker, Landon Morock, Daniel Milburn and Vigensley Merjuste have been other top performers in the sprints, hurdles and long jump this season.”
