Logansport hosted the first annual Ron Kinnaman Classic today. Wet conditions cause the tournament to be condensed. Fishers, Lowell and Logansport played a three-way. Game 1 win for the Lady Berries over Lowell 5-2 Varsity vs Lowell Senior High School (5 - 2) Win The Lady Berries started of the scoring in the first inning. Kellyn Cripe tripled on a line drive over the center fielder's head to lead off the game. Gracie Risley walked putting runners at first and second. Natalee Packard laid down an squeeze bunt to score Cripe. Logansport took a 3 -0 lead after Cripe doubled to left with one out. Risley launched a two strike pitch over the centerfield fence for her second homer of the year. With the score 3-2 Berries, Packard lined a double to left in the bottom of the sixth. Adrienne reached on a Lowell error. With two outs and runners at second and third Mady Baumgardner ripped a double down the third baseline to take a 5 -2 lead. Packard started in the circle for the Lady Berries. Packard picked up the victory throwing 5 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits while striking out five. Risley closed the game out throwing the final 2 innings allowing 0 runs, 0 hits and striking out four. Defensively the Lady Berries locked it down again. The Lady Berries were lead by Cripe with a double, triple and scored 2 runs. Bella Nicoles, Risley, Packard and Baumgardner each collected one hit. Risley and Baumgardner each had 2 RBI's Game 2 Lady Berries lose a close one to Fishers Varsity vs Fishers High School (2 - 3) Loss Pitching dual in game 2, was the story of the Logansport versus Fishers contest. Logansport scored one run in the first inning. Kellyn Cripe lead off the game with a hit by pitch; followed by a Gracie Risley walk. Adrienne Scott ripped a single to center to score Cripe. The Lady Berries would carry a 1-0 lead into the 4 inning, behind a strong pitching performance by Risley. Fishers high powered offense picked up two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth for a 3-1 lead. The Lady Berries continued to battle picking up a run in the 6th. Bella Nicoles laced a double to center. Packard singled on a line drive to left to plate Nicoles. Packard came in relief an held Fishers scoreless in her two innings work. Unfortunately the Berries were not able to make a come back. Risley started in the circle for Logansport and was able to hold a very good offensive team to 3 runs on 7 hits in her 5 innings of work. Risley struck out 6 batters. Packard came in and threw the final 2 innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 2. The Lady Berries offense was lead by Packard, Nicoles and Scott all collecting two hits each. Nicoles collected the only extra base hit with a double. Packard and Scott each had RBI.
