Logansport High School

LHS softball beats Western 10-2 Logansport lead by freshman pitcher Gracie Risley. Risley threw a complete 7 inning game surrendering 2 unearned runs, 1 hit while striking out 10. The Logansport Lady Berries battled through rainy conditions in the first inning. Logansport gave up an unearned run in the top the first on an error and a couple of wild pitches. Cripe and Risley led off the bottom of the first with walks. Bella Nicoles sacrifice bunt pushed runners to second and third. Cripe and Risley scored on separate wild pitches to make the score 2-1. The Lady Berries scored 3 more in the bottom of the third. Risley singled on a ground ball to second baseman. Nicoles singled on a line drive to left putting runners a first and second. Natalee Packard singled to right to load the bases. Adrienne Scott lined a bases clearing triple to right center for a 5-2 lead. Logansport scores again in the fourth after Rylinn Spradling singled to left and was sacrificed to second by Cripe: Risley tripled to right center to score Spradling. Packard launched a two-run homer to center to push the score to 8-1 The Lady Berries pick up a run in each of the next two innings. Bianca Cortez leads the fifth inning with a double to left center. Evie Kitchel reaches base on a sacrifice bunt to move Cortez to third. Cortez scores on a ground out by R. Spradling. Logansport capped off the scoring in the next inning when Risley singled to second baseman. Nicoles double down the third base line scores Risley give the Lady Berries a 10-2 lead. Logansport's defense showed up again with multiple great play including diving catches by Teagan Wolf and Natalee Packard. Offensively the Lady Berries were led by Risley and Scott with three hits a piece. Nicoles and Packard collected two hits each. Packard had a two run homerun. Also, Mady Baumgardner, Biaca Cortez, Evie Kitchel, and R. Spradling each had a hit contributing to a 14 hit performance.
