LHS softball completes a 10-5 comeback win over Portage The Lady Berries spotted Portage 5 runs in the first two innings before the offense woke up and pulled out the win. Logansport's Natalee Packard started in the circle for the Lady Berries. Packard threw well but the Lady Berries defense committed a few errors that lead to 3 unearned runs. Packard did her best to limit the damage. She allowed 6 hits and struck out 5 over four innings. Gracie Risley came in relief and struck out 6 over the remaining three innings. Down 5 runs in the bottom of the second the Lady Berries began to chip away at the Portage lead. Adrienne Scott singled to left. Brooklynn Hagerty followed with a line drive single past the Portage pitcher's ear. Bianca Cortez RBI single scores Scott for the first run of the game for the Lady Berries. Logansport would have to wait until bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Cortez singled to center. Evie Kitchel reaches on an error by the first baseman. Rylinn Spradling singles to center to score pinch runner Lucy Gordon. Kellyn Cripe's successful sacrifice bunt moves runners to second and third. Risley singles to center scores two runs to make the score 5-4 Portage. Bella Nicoles doubles down the left field line to put runners at second and third. Risley scores on a wild pitch. Packard RBI single scores Nicoles for a 6-5 Lady Berries lead. Brooklynn Hagerty works a walk to put two on with two out. Bianca Cortes completed the scoring in the inning with her first homerun of the season, a three run blast to left centerfield. In the bottom of the sixth R. Spradling reaches on an infield single to short. Cripe sacrifices R. Spradling to second. Risley hits an RBI single to left to give the Lady Berries a 10-5 lead. Bianca Cortez was the big bat for the Lady Berries. The freshman totaled three hits, and four RBI's to go with the homerun. Risley and R. Spradling contributed 2 hit each. Risley had three RBI's. Nicoles, Adrienne Scott, Packard, Hagerty each added a hit to the Berries total.
