The Logansport Berries Track & Field teams both competed in their first ever Hoosier Conference Track Meets on Friday night and came away with fourth place finishes in the nine team field with several personal best performances aided by cool temperatures and little wind the entire evening. The Lady Berries were led by Ashanta Curry's second place finish in the high jump with a jump of 5'1" along with her third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles and a third place in the 300 meter hurdles. Alette Woodhouse had a good night in the distance events leading the Berries 4X 800 relay team (Hernandez, Graham, Dexter, Woodhouse) to a third place finish by running the anchor leg in an unofficial 2:28 to go along with a third place in the 3200 meter run in 12:23, and a fourth place finish in the 1600 meter run in 5:40. The Berries 4X 100 Meter Relay team of Adyson Porter, Erin Williams, Brianna Chery, and Jada Paul ran to a fourth place finish in 53.26. Fifth place finishes were turned in by Tiara Lincoln in the long jump with a leap of 14'6.25", Audrey Graham in the 800 meter run in 2:36.25, Jada Paul in the 100 meter dash in 13.66, and the 4X 400 meter relay team of Curry, Dexter, Hernandez, and Graham in 4:43. Lily Clem threw the discus 101'1" for a sixth place finish along with Adyson Porter's sixth place in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.43. Seventh place finishers were Khloe Wells in the shot put with a throw of 31'9.75", Ximena Lopez had a vault of 7'6" in the pole vault for seventh, and Cecilia Rico was seventh in the 200 meter dash. Erin Williams rounded out the Logansport scoring with an eighth place finish in the 100 meter dash in 13.76. West Lafayette won the girls meet with 181 points, followed by Hamilton Heights with 138, Western 104.50, the Berries with 73, Twin Lakes 43.50, Benton Central 37, Rensselaer Central 21, Tipton 17, and Lafayette Central Catholic 7. ​The boys team picked up second place finishes from Nickenson Hyppolite with a jump of 5'10" and the boys 4X 800 meter relay team of Diaz, M. Zarate, Sebastian, and Strong with a time of 8:31. Third place finishes went to Elliot Baldini with a leap of 5'10" in the high jump, the 4X 100 meter relay team of Wicker, Morock, Hyppolite, and Baldini in 45.28, and Tate Strong in the individual 800 meter run in 2:04.71. RJ Clem finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 129'10". Jackson Wicker cleared the pole vault bar at 12'00" for fifth place, along with Clem in the shot put with a 40'7.75", and Landon Morock in the 110 hurdles in 17.73. Chevy Hauser came in sixth in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.23, Vigensley Merjuste was also sixth in the long jump with a distance of 18'5.5", and Samuel Sebastian, Jr. in the 1600 meter run with a run of 4:50.91. The Berries completed their scoring with several eighth place finishes: Elliot Baldini in the 100 meter dash in 11.74, Eli Schurter in the 400 meter dash in 54.68 seconds, Landon Morock in the 300 meter hurdles in 45.47, and the 4X 400 meter relay team of Schurter, Miranda, Buenaventura, and Castro-Martinez in 3:53.46. West Lafayette also won the boys competition with a score of 192 points. Rensselaer Central had 91, followed by Hamilton Heights with 86, Logansport 67, Western 64, Tipton 48, Twin Lakes 44, Lafayette Central Catholic 25, and Benton Central with 6.
