LHS softball defeats Northwestern 10-0 game 1 of sectionals. Logansport disposed of the Northwestern Tigers with great pitching, outstanding defense and an attacking offense. Freshman Gracie Risley threw a perfect five inning complete game. Risley allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out 6 Tigers. Logansport played a flawless team defense. Several difficult plays were made in support of Risley's perfect game. The Lady Berries grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. With one out, Risely singled on a line drive to right center. Bella Nicoles followed with a single over the shortstop's glove. With two outs, Adrienne Scott tripled to left centerfield scoring both Risley and Nicoles. Natalee Packard led off the third with a line drive double to center. Scott bunt single puts runners at first and third. Scott steals second base putting runners at second and third. Packard is cut down at home trying to score on a wild pitch. Brooklynn Hagerty walks and then steals second to put runners at second and third. Bianca Cortez walked to load the bases. Mady Baumgardner walks with the bases loaded to score Scott. Hagerty scores on a wild pitch as runners move up to second and third. Kellyn Cripe singles on a ground ball to shortstop scoring both pinch runner Teagan Wolf and Baumgardner for a 6-0 lead. Logansport picked up three more runs in the fourth after Scott singles on a liner to left. Cortez draws a walk putting two runners on. Baumgardner doubles to center scoring two runs. Baumgardner scores a few pitches later on a throwing error. With a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, Cripe lines a triple to right centerfield. Risley reaches on a bunt single. Nicoles finshed the game off with a double to left that scored Cripe for the tenth run for the mercy rule. The Lady Berries offense accumulated 13 hits and drew 6 walks. Cripe, Risley, and Scott each had three hits on the day. Nicoles had two hits. Cripe and Scott each had a triple. Packard, Nicoles, and Baugardner each had a double. Cripe, Scott and Baumgardner each had multiple runs batted in.
