LHS softball advances to the Sectional Championship game after a 14-1 victory over the Peru Tigers. Logansport will play Western for the Sectional Championship Saturday night at 7:30. The Lady Berries took down the Peru Lady Tigers in a five inning game. Logansport took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Kellyn Cripe led off with a single up the middle. With two outs, Natalee Packard RBI single scored Cripe. Adrienne Scott singled to left, putting runners are first and second. Brooklynn Hagerty reaches base on a error allowing Packard to score. Bianca Cortez RBI single scores the third run of the inning. Logansport extended their lead in the second inning, after a Gracie Risley hit a bomb over the left field fence making the score 4-0 Lady Berries. The Lady Berries scored again in the third. Consecutive singles by Packard, Scott and Hagerty loaded the bases. Cortez came through again with a single to right scoring both Packard and Scott for a 6-0 lead. Logansport allowed an unearned run to score in the top of the fourth. The offense answered back with eight runs. Cripe singled to center, and scored on a error by the centerfield. Risley doubled to center. Bella Nicoles smashed a ground rule doubled to left driving in Risley. Scott reaches on a bunt single. Hagerty lines an two RBI single to center. Cortez and Baumgardner draw consecutive walks to load the bases. Pinch hitter Evie Kitchel reaches base on hit by pitch that scores Hagerty. Pinch runner Teagan Wolf and Baumgardner scores on separate wild pitches. Pinch hitter Mya Hershberger lines a RBI single to center to cap off the scoring at 14 runs. Senior Natalee Packard picks up the win for the Lady Berries. Packard threw four innings surrendering no earned runs, allowing three hits and striking out 6 Tigers. Brooklynn Hagerty threw the last inning, striking out all three she faced. Lady Berries offense had 14 runs, on 15 hits, 10 RBI's on the day. Scott led the attack with a 3 for 3 day with three runs scored. Cripe, Risley, Packard, Hagerty and Cortez each had two hits apiece. Cripe, Risley, and Packard scored two run each. Cortez led the team with 3 RBIs and Hagerty contributed 2 RBIs. Risley hit a home run and doubled. Nicoles added a double.
