Logansport Berries battled a close one back and forth until the fifth inning when Northwestern hit a three run homer and Northwestern came out on top 14-7 on Thursday.

Logansport Berries Varsity collected ten hits and Northwestern had fourteen in the high-scoring affair.

In the bottom of the first inning, Logansport Berries Varsity tied things up at two when Lexi Ayers doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Claire Kitchel was in the circle for Logansport Berries Varsity. She allowed nine hits and 14 runs over five and a third innings, striking out three and walking one. Yilian Rodriguez threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Northwestern tallied two home runs on the day. Walker put one out in the fifth inning. Hughes went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Logansport Berries Varsity collected nine hits. Ayers and Rodriguez each racked up multiple hits for Logansport Berries Varsity. Ayers led Logansport Berries Varsity with three doubles in three at bats.

Logan will battle in the NCC’s this weekend when they play Richmond on Saturday at Anderson.
