“Maria Perez and Erica White ran very aggressively and had excellent performances. They were picking runners off at the end of the race and finished very strong,” said Berries coach, Brian Morrill. “We’ve been training very hard for the past two weeks and the legs were a little heavy for most of the girls, but the effort wasn’t lacking so all in all we were pleased the team’s performances. We think when the cooler weather sets in late in the season the girls will see some nice time drops, but right now we just need to keep our heads down and keep working hard,” said Morrill.
In the JV race the Berries were led by Alexa Pasquale with a 26:01, Maggie Fincher had 26:14, Ryann Wylie 26:35, Irasema Munoz 26:50, Kayla Ortiz 27:48, Jessica Mateo 28:09, and Juliana Asencion 30:12.
The Berries will travel north to the New Prairie Invitational next Saturday.
